If I ask if all be right
From mirror after mirror,
No vanity’s displayed:
I’m looking for the face I had
Before the world was made.

This is a hand bound that is printed on newsprint paper and bound into french folds. Each section of the book highlights stills from individual video works made as part of a series. I converted all stills to monotone colors in order to achieve a textural quality. At the center of the book are five spreads as seen below that reveal a weave-like exploration of film stills extracted from YouTube videos that were collected for my research. The woven pattern of textiles is an appropriate evocation of the interconnection and multiplicity inherit in digital self expression.

When we look at ourselves, we engage in a dialogue of observation, critique, deconstruction and assemblage, analysis and reflection. In digital media, we communicate and reflect a collective illusion of Self. To see video work of this project, click here
